A DEPLETED Westbury United were left to rue missed chances as their Wiltshire rivals ruthlessly punished their wastefulness on Monday.
With Mark Pearce unwell, Aaron Salter and Matt Windsor having left the club and Martin Little injured in the pre-match warm up, Westbury were forced into a number of defensive changes.
In came teenager Kai Pinnell for his full debut while Pete Ayton slotted alongside Carl Harlfield and Tom Evans to form a make shift back four.
Jerad O'Pray was prominent early on while Shrewton keeper Adam Burwell saved well at Matty Bown's feet.
Shrewton opened the scoring on 37 minutes when Dean Foot and Michael Brownless combined for Shaun Collins to fire home from close range.
Westbury finished the half on top but they were kept at bay by a resolute home defence.
Soon after the break, Westbury were left wondering how they were not level. Burwell spilt Pinnell's cross before recovering brilliantly to block Bown's shot and then Nick Beales' well-hit free kick deflected of the Shrewton's wall and spun just wide of the post.
The hosts doubled their lead on the hour mark when Collins turned in Craig Lewis' shot, despite protests for offside.
Shrewton extended their lead further when Collins touched the ball into the net after an double save from Porter.
Nick Beales' header from Matt Bown's cross hit a post before Jesse Walters scored Shrewton's fourth.
O'Pray headed Westbury's consolation past Burwell with seconds remaining.
