Flower power drives appeal

VOLUNTEERS were out in force in North Wiltshire on Saturday handing out daffodils in exchange for donations in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.

They paraded the streets of Chippenham, Swindon, Corsham, Malmesbury, Marlborough, Pewsey and Wootton Bassett hoping to help reach a £17,000 target for the Great Daffodil Appeal.

It is the annual flagship appeal for Marie Curie Cancer Care, the charity that provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally ill people the choice of dying at home supported by their families.

Support from Yellow Pages ensures that the cost of promotional material is already covered so funds raised go directly to the charity.

Last year Marie Curie Nurses nursed 15,000 people with cancer in their own homes. This year they want to care for even more people, giving them the opportunity to live out their days with those they love around them.
