Community spirit

COMMUNITY spirit shone through at an open day in Penhill. Scores of local groups and societies took part in a community fair to recruit new members.

Marilyn Beale, right, who helped organise yesterday's event at the John Moulton Hall, said: "We wanted to bring together as many groups as possible so everyone can see what is on offer.

"It just shows how vibrant Penhill is, it's amazing how much is going on."
