Embarrassment of riches for Mel

WILTSHIRE youth boss Mel Gingell has few selection headaches ahead of tomorrow's clash with Cornwall, but admits picking his senior side will be far harder.

The under 18s take on their Cornish counterparts at St Blazey FC with England schoolboy international Yan Klukowski set to be the only absentee from their previous line up.

Fresh from their stirring 2-1 victory in Dorset, Wiltshire's senior side face the Army at Melksham Town on Wednesday night.

Gingell said: "The only problem with that is that Ben Highmore Jamie Cheeseman, James Lye David Blake and Craig Fullam didn't play in the Dorset game.

"They are all quality players and I have to decide whether to bring them in. It's a nice predicament to be in and now we've got a few points we've got to be fair to everyone.

"Earlier in the season it was much harder to get players to play for the team."

The Army are top of the South West Counties Championship and likely to pose a strong threat at the Conigre.

The county youth team are setting the pace in the under 18 version of the championship and despite star man Klukowski being on international duty in Spain, Gingell remains confident.

He said: "It's a blow that Yan is not playing, but we wish him the best of luck.

"Cornwall have drawn three of their games so they'll not be easy to beat. But a win down there will put us in the driving seat to reach the final and retain our title."
