History to be honoured

PLANS to commemorate historic buildings got the go-ahead at a council meeting on Monday.

The blue plaque scheme will honour six buildings in Warminster including the Maltings, the Athenaeum and the Literary Institution.

Warminster School, Dewey House and the Chapel of St Lawrence will also display a plaque.

The plaques will feature a little piece of history about each building and will go up around the town next month.

Councillors voted unanimously in favour of the scheme at the planning committee meeting on Monday.

Warminster mayor Martin Baker said: "It's a great scheme and one we fully support."
