Overdraft dangers

SMALL businesses in the south west owe at least £197.6 million in overdrafts, according to independent research commissioned by GMAC Commercial Finance, a corporate funding specialist.

About a quarter have overdrafts over £20,000.

Nick Grainger, area manager for GMAC CF invoice finance said: "An overdraft can be an expensive way of funding debt."
