Romance blossoms in Devizes

Research from Barclays has found that 30-something men from Devizes are among the most romantic in the country.

The bank, which has analysed its male customers' spending on flowers over the last three Valentine's Days, has identified the country's most romantic men.

Casanova central is the parliamentary constituency of East Surrey, followed by Witney in Oxfordshire. Some of the most romantic men outside London and the south east, which take 13 of the top 20 places, are in the Cotswolds, Devizes and Poole.

James Wycherley, Barclays' head of analysis, said: "February is a particularly busy month for florists, and almost three quarters of men's spending on flowers in the month takes place between the 12th and 14th."
