Pub profits struggling

PUB group Regent Inns said a business shake-up and higher marketing costs led to a 16.6 per cent fall in half-year profits.

Regent, which runs bars including the Walkabout Australian theme pub in Fleet Street, Swindon, and Jongleurs comedy clubs, said it cut head office operations and sacked 27 people to revive the flagging business.
