Lost dog spotted but still at large

AN ANIMAL-lover who lost her dog is appealing to readers of the Evening Advertiser for help.

Georgina Higgs, 59, lost her four-year-old miniature pinscher, called Amber, while taking her for a walk last Tuesday.

An appeal in the Advertiser on Friday has so far brought seven calls from keen eyed readers who have spotted the dog but nobody has been able to catch her.

Mrs Higgs said: "The response from people who have read about it in the paper has been wonderful and I would like to thank them very much indeed.

"People have said they've seen her and when I've shown them a photo they've said it was definitely her.

"But I want to ask people to keep looking. I love that dog and I just want her home."

The dog, which slipped its collar whilst out on a walk in Lydiard Park, was last seen by a member of the public on Sunday, January 2 in Wentworth Park, Freshbrook.

Mrs Higgs, who got the small, short haired, tan coloured dog, with black patches, in April, said: "She's a rescue dog so she's very nervous, she's wary of other people.

"But she's lovely company and I really want her back. I'm distraught without her."
