Amateur panto is filled with jokes for the locals

Ref. 7440-37A GENIE in a lamp has come to Shrivenham thanks to the town's amateur dramatic society.

They have been performing their own special version of Aladdin written by David Pratt, the Shrivenham parish clerk.

His wife Nan who is also a member of the drama society, said: "It's been wonderful show and it has been adapted to be full of local references and local jokes.

"The costumes are lovely and bright and there are lots of bangs and flashes.

"It's a show that was suitable for people of all ages really.

"On Wednesday nights show we had a group of 40 people from the Parkinson's Disease Society and also a party of little children and they all absolutely loved it."

The show took place at the Shrivenham Memorial Hall in Shrivenham High Street.

The show opened on December 29 and the last performance was yesterday.
