SUPERMARINE came crashing back down to earth to start the new year in depressing fashion with a 4-0 Western Division home defeat by Clevedon.
The Hunts Copse side had kept a clean sheet in their previous five matches but they finished a well beaten side.
High-flying Clevedon had to fend-off early pressure but by half-time had moved into a three goal lead.
Jack Pitcher grabbed a brace in the 25th and 33rd minutes and on the stroke of half-time King was beaten again but this time by Leon Hapgood.
To add to Supermarine's woes Tom Jacobs added a fourth from Pitcher's pass.
"We didn't really turn-up," said a very disappointed Marine boss Mark Collier. "We weren't at the races.
"They had two very good forwards and after we missed a couple of chances early on they struck twice while the third goal killed us off.
"Hopefully there will be a reaction at Thame (today) and this was a one-off and we put it down to a bad day at the office," he added.
