Hughen and Joyce Riley, from the Silver Plough pub, with pupils from Exeter House who will benefit from the jeep donation.IT is playtime at Exeter House special school following a generous donation of trikes, jeeps and a basketball hoop.
The gift came after the Journal reported that kind-hearted regulars at the Silver Plough, in Pitton, raised enough money to buy seven-year-old cerebral palsy sufferer Jessica Feltham a special trike.
"After that story, we had quite a lot of calls, including one from someone who had this equipment that their children had grown out of," said licensee Joyce Riley. "Teachers from Exeter House came to see it and said it would be perfect for them, and we were delighted that it found a good home."
The pub is also busy fundraising along with the Plough, at Durrington, to provide another trike for disabled teenager Holly Sears.
It has a host of special events planned for later in the year, to buy more equipment for Exeter House.
"We get great support from our regulars and find lots of way to raise money" added Mrs Riley.
"We have charity quizzes, lots of auctions and my husband Hughen is running the half marathon.
"We are always keen to hear from people we might be able to help with our fundraising, but we also need people to help us achieve it."
