Brandon sets off on his walking adventure

BRANDON Humphries flew with his family to Hungary over the weekend in a bid to learn to walk.

Evening Advertiser readers raised more than £5,000 to pay for the four-year-old, who has cerebral palsy, to spend a month at the world-renowned in Peto Institute, in Budapest.

His parents, Tracey, 38, and Tony, 42, who live at The Prinnels in West Swindon, launched a campaign called Brandon's Best Foot Forward last month.

They said they were overwhelmed by people's generosity.

Within weeks supporters had smashed the £4,000 appeal target.

A host of events were organised to raise the money, including a six-a-side football tournament, a walkathon and Indian dinner party.

The Peto Institute pioneered a unique therapy to treat cerebral palsy, conductive education.

During his stay Brandon will undergo an intensive form of physiotherapy to gain greater control of his legs.
