Findlay double helps Heath bag the points

BEMERTON Heath Harle-quins picked up all three points in a 3-1 success at Western Way against high-flying AFC Newbury.

Darren Crook's goal gave them a 1-0 lead going into the break and two Stuart Findlay goals in the second half sealed the win.

Newbury grabbed a late consolation via an Ashley Vine effort.

On Saturday, Steve Slade's side entertain Moneyfields in their final league game of the season.

The club still have their Wessex League Cup final to look forward to on Monday, May 3 at Lymington & NM's ground against league champions and FA Vase finalists Winchester City.

Six points in a week have taken Heath's reserves to within spitting distance of landing the Combination League title.

They won 4-1 at home to Horndean and 1-0 away at Bournemouth to go six points clear of second-placed Gosport Borough.

Neil Cole scored a brace against Horndean, while Danny Aplin and Dan Newman were also on target. Kevin Thick netted the all-important winner at Bournemouth.

The reserves travel to Lymington and New Milton on Saturday for their final game of the season.
