AMANDA: Police find body

A BODY thought to be that of missing Purton woman Amanda Edwards has been found on the outskirts of Malmesbury, at the building site of the former Knoll House Hotel.

And the man police questioned for more than three days over her disappearance has been found dead at an address in Calne, less than 24 hours after being released without charge.

Amanda, a 21-year-old nursery nurse, was last seen alive nine days ago.

She had dropped off boyfriend David Board, 19, at his home in Calne at 11.30am, and her car was later found empty at the car park of the West Swindon Shopping Centre.

The dead man is believed to be 42-year-old Ian Cortis, a plasterer who lived in Grange Park, Swindon.

He was arrested on Monday evening by police investigating Amanda's disappearance, but released shortly after midnight on Thursday.
