Kintbury close the gap

NORTH BERKS LEAGUE: Defending Division One champions Kintbury Rangers struck late to move within a point of leaders Lambourn Sports with a 2-0 win over Faringdon Town.

In an absorbing match, Spencer Annetts finally found the net in the 86th minute and Lucas Masopust in the 90th.

Shrivenham Reserves went down 2-0 to champions Harwell International in Division Two and although they can still can overhaul Grove, the league rules do not allow for a reserve side in the top division.

With their 100 per cent home record still intact, Ardington & Lockinge Reserves clinched the Division Five crown with a 4-1 win over hard-working Hanney United Reserves.

Luke Wilkins and Dave Curtis put Ardington ahead, only for Jason Maynard to pull one back before half-time.

A minute after the restart, though, Gary Crame scored Ardington's third and Wilkins eventually made the game safe with his second on 65.
