DRIVERS will be relieved to hear that after more than two months of road works, the B4696 between Ashton Keynes and Leigh was reopened yesterday.
The road was due to be open on Wednesday, but complica-tions with white lining meant that the road remained closed until the Friday.
For two months the road has been closed and drivers have had to follow diversions of up to three miles.
Some Leigh residents have also had problems with electricity being cut off while the work was being carried out.
Major maintenance work was undertaken, including drainage work, resurfacing and kerbing.
Wiltshire County Council has contracted the work to Devizes highway company Ringway Parkman, which does most of the council's roadworks.
