Pensioners in Trowbridge have received a £2,400 lottery grant to help them make the most of their retirement.
The Springtime Luncheon Club netted the cash as part of a £17,000 windfall for groups across west Wiltshire from the Awards for All programme.
The pensioners, who meet on Thursdays at the Weavers Club, have been awarded the money to fund extra trips, kitchen equipment and advertising.
Treasurer Christine York, who broke the news to the group's 46 members on Thursday, said: "When I took over as treasurer last year we were running a bit tight with cash.
"It was too late to apply for grants then so we had to be very careful.
"We need to let people know that we are here so the advertising money will be vital.
"Now I'm starting to sort some trips for the rest of the year we try to do the best we can for them."
Elsewhere, the Trow- bridge Area Festival of Fun picked up a £5,000 grant, while the town's carnival committee received £4,000. Warminster Sequence Dance Club was awarded £2,800 and Horningsham Primary School collected £2,552 for new gym equipment.
Awards for All's senior awards officer Raymond Moore said: "I know these lottery grants, although small, make an enormous difference to a wide range of groups and projects that are working for the good of their local communities.
