Reserves have title in sight

BEMERTON Heath Harlequins reserves kept up the pressure on Gosport Borough in the race for Wessex Combination League title with a superb performance at Christchurch reserves.

The home side, unbeaten on their own patch all season, took an early lead but the Harlequins fought back to win 3-1 with goals from Joe Sanger, Dan Aplin and Andrew Waters.

Heath's second string are now level on points with Gosport Borough, but crucially have a game in hand.

Jeff Softley's side will have to wait until Thursday, April 15 to resume their title march however. Horndean Reserves visit Western Way for a match which kicks off at 7.45pm.

The club's first team visit BAT on Saturday ahead of Monday's local derby clash at Downton (11am).
