Devizes move up the table

Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League: DEVIZES Town Youth continued their climb up the under 16s Red Division of the Wiltshire Times and Chippenham News Mid-Wilts Youth and Minor League with a 6-2 home win over FC Chippenham.

The victory takes Devizes up to third and enhances their chances of clinching the runners-up spot.

Devizes were on top throughout the game turning a 2-1 half-time lead into a 6-2 final result.

Ashley Edwards, Daniel Lyons (2), Steven House (2) and Daniel Sloan scored for Devizes, with Andy Bull and Josh David replying for Chippenham.

Under 16s Blue Division

BEMERTON Heath Harlequins moved up to second following their narrow victory away to AFC Corsham United.

Corsham defended well throughout the game but let their guard drop for a moment in the second half allowing Jack Slade through on goal to seal the victory for Bemerton at 1-0.

Under 15s Blue Division

DEVIZES Town Youth's championship hopes are still alive following their home game against Marlborough Town which saw them run out 7-0 winners.

Tom Slater (2), Dan Sloan (2), Jamie Selby (2) and Robin Gorham all scored for Devizes.

Under 15s Red Division

DANIEL Crocker scored for Warminster Highbury in their home game against FC Chippenham which saw the visitors take all three points with a 6-1 final score.

Calne Town Youth took the lead in the first minute in their home game against Durrington Rangers but the visitors were quick to reply, bringing the game level in two minutes.

Calne had the better of the first half going in 3-1 up at the break.

The second half was much closer with both sides defending well and scoring a goal a piece seeing the game end 4-2 to Calne.

Jamie Davies (2), Adam Johnson and Joe Chaffey scored for Calne.

Under 14s Green Division

IN a Friday night fixture Amesbury Juniors secured runners-up position following their 5-0 home win over Shaw and Whitley.

Under 14s Red Division

PEWSEY Vale secured runners-up spot with a 5-2 away win over Melksham in their final game of the season.

Pewsey's goals came from Gary Powell (2), Zak Mar (2) and Joe Offer, with Matthew Hann and Theo Rumens replying for Melksham.

In a midtable clash Castle Combe Colts took the lead from a free kick taken superbly by Jake O'Keeffe in their home game against Trowbridge Town Youth 2nds.

The second half saw Trowbridge Town Youth 2nds bring the game level before going on to score the winner in the last five minutes.

Under 13s Blue Division

AMESBURY Juniors remain top of the table following their away game at Trowbridge Town Youth.

Trowbridge made the most of their chances in the first half, taking a 2-1 lead at the break.

Amesbury drew level in the second half before going on to win 4-2. Amesbury's goals came from Ben Pulling (2) and Simon Edwards (2), with Tom A'Court and Matthew Jones replying for Trowbridge.

Salisbury Juniors kept up the pressure for top slot with a 3-2 home win against Castle Combe Colts.

Salisbury led 3-0 at the break, withgoals from Eddie Perrett and Will Hawkins (2). The game could have gone either way in the second half with Castle Combe taking the score to 3-2 and could have taken the lead but for some fine defending from Salisbury, clearing one shot off the line and hitting the cross bar. A late breakaway goal for Salisbury from Ricky Harrison secured the points.

Under 13s Green Division

SOUTH Newton and Wishford completed their fixtures with a home win over Chippenham Town Youth, running out 5-0 winners with goals from Craig Dowdle, Ross Daniels and a hat-trick for Josh Brown.

Under 13s Red Division

A TOP of the table clash saw Worton and Cheverell entertain AFC Corsham.

After a tense close start with a few clear chances in the early part of the first half, Corsham pushed on and showed their class as leaders and scored two goals before half-time, with Nathan Baines and Daniel Purser on target.

After the break Worton and Cheverell came out determined to take the game to Corsham and after three minutes they reduced the deficit with a goal from Alex Harrod who later on in the half equalised.

Worton were then rewarded for their hard work and went ahead with a goal from Matt Blumson.

Corsham never gave up and levelled the score with two minutes to go with another goal from Purser seeing the game finish level at 3-3.

Under 12s Blue Division

AFTER a heavy night of rain, Trowbridge Town Youth returned to league action at home to Devizes.

With players missing, Trowbridge were forced into a change in formation, but this did not prevent them from playing some entertaining football.

The first half was dominated by Trowbridge's passing game and they took the lead from a Jamie Jordan header. A brace from Tom Mackinder followed and Trowbridge headed for the break three goals to the good.

A sharp Lawrence Giles cross, so fierce that the defender could only turn the ball into his own net gave Trowbridge a comfortable lead, so comfortable that they took their foot off the gas and allowed Devizes to hit back with two goals.

Under 12s Red Division

WESTBURY Youth and visitors Trowbridge Wanderers 2nds both played their penultimate game with the visitors taking all three points with a 5-2 final score.

Greenslade and Johnson scored for Westbury.

White Horse Juniors took a 3-1 half-time lead in their home game against Trowbridge Wanderers, with goals from Jordan Braide, Joshua King-Archer and Tom Batten.

Wanderers battled back in the second half bringing the game level at 3-3. The game was settled in the last five minutes when Braide scored his second of the game and the winner for White Horse Juniors.

Under 11s Blue Division

CALNE Town Youth played hosts to Melksham Park in a close game where the lead changed hands three times.

Melksham were first off the mark with Calne bringing the game level through Mike Coulson before the break.

Calne took the lead early in the second half with a fine strike from Katie Kingshot but Melksham quickly equalised. The game could have gone either way but in the last minute Melksham stole the game with a late winner.

Under 11s Green Division

A CLOSE encounter between home side Trowbridge Town Youth Blue and Shaw and Whitley which resulted in a 2-1 win for the home side. Jordan Kirk scored for Shaw and Whitley.

Under 11s Red Division

GEORGE Snook's goal for Pewsey Vale left spectators asking, was it a cross or was it a shot, but it didn't matter either way as it gave them the lead against visitors Chippenham Town Youth.

The visitors levelled before the break when an unfortunate back pass to the Pewsey keeper found a Chippenham forward for a clean shot on goal. Both sides defended well in the second half to see the game end at 1-1.

Under 11s Yellow Division

CASTLE Combe Colts continue to head the division following their away win against Westbury Youth.

Castle Combe controlled most of the first half going in 3-1 up at the break. Westbury staged a comeback in the second half and were the stronger winning it 2-1 to leave the final score at 4-3 to the visitors. Anthony Holton (2) and Matthew Wheble scored for Westbury.

Under 10s Green Division

BRADFORD on Avon remain top of following their home win over Chippenham Town Youth.

Chippenham had the better of the first half, taking their chances well and going in 2-1 ahead at the break. Bradford held off Chippenham in the second half and scored four more to finish 5-2 winners.
