Handbag taken after scuffle

A ROBBER ran off with a woman's handbag after a late-night scuffle in Salisbury at the weekend.

The incident happened between 23.55pm and 12.30am on Sunday, when a woman walking in the Minster Street area was approached by a man who stole her denim bag.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who might have been in the Minister Street, Blue Boar Row, Fisherton Street or Castle Street area at the time and witnessed a disagreement between a man and a woman.

The victim was wearing a red top, grey tracksuit trousers and white trainers and had blonde hair.

Police are also keen to speak to three people in a grey hatchback car parked in St Thomas's Square, opposite High Street, who might have vital information.

Any witnesses are asked to contact Salisbury Police, on 01722 411444, or to call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line, 0800 555 111.
