Police are appealing for witnesses to a racial attack involving three Asian teenage girls who were assaulted and robbed on their way home in Gorse Hill.
One of the victims was taken to hospital with a swollen eye, bruised forehead and injured shoulder.
The attack happened on Friday at around 9.30pm, when five white women set upon the three teenagers in the shopping parade area of Cricklade Road.
One of the teenagers was carrying a substantial amount of money which was stolen during the attack.
A man is believed to have intervened and Swindon police urge him to get in touch.
The victims, who speak little English, made their way home and one was later taken to the Great Western Hospital for treatment.
PC Daryll Marsh said: "The victims were distressed and shaken.
"We are taking this incident extremely seriously and urge anyone with information to contact us."
Anyone with information should call Swindon Police on 01793 528111.
