A SUCCESSFUL flexible public transport system is to be extended to Warminster. Organisers of the Wigglybus are currently putting together a timetable for a route between Warminster, Mere and Shaftesbury areas.
The new route should hit the road within six months, after a survey of passengers in south Wiltshire recommended regular trips to and from Warminster.
Tim Reynolds, Wigglybus manager, said: "We are looking to run one of two buses across the hills to Warminster.
"The buses will be a little smaller than those in other areas of the county but will be run the same way, with passengers able to phone up and book specific routes.
"It will be temporary at first and will be a case of use it or lose it, but a survey of passengers has revealed there is quite a high demand."
The Wigglybus starts and finishes from fixed points but picks up passengers any place in between if they book in advance.
It will be running from 8.30am until 6pm on Saturdays from August for a trial period of six to eight months.
