THE Suffolk Arms at Brinkworth is having a £250,000 facelift that will modernise and update the popular country pub.
Terry Carter and his son Paul, joint licensees of the watering hole for ten years, are overhauling the interior of the pub and adding new features outside.
The landlords are also backing the Lydia Cross Appeal by offering free use of their function room for any fundraising nights. They have also placed collecting tins on the bar.
The pub is remaining open throughout the renovations, which are due to be completed in the next two weeks.
The pub's bar and restaurant area at the front of the building is being changed to a larger eating area serving an a la carte menu.
The bar will be moved inside and will be dedicated to serving drinks and dishes from a special bar menu.
The function room is being redecorated, with new equipment for karaoke and live entertainment. The kitchen has been fitted with new equipment and furniture will be replaced throughout the pub.
Outside, there is a new patio area where guests can enjoy views of the Dauntsey Vale and a children's area with aviary, around the back.
Mr Carter Snr said: "We are really looking forward to the pub being completed. It is the first major renovation we have done since we took over the pub."
