SHREWTON United's Jekyll and Hyde season continued on Saturday with an impressive 2-0 victory at home to high-flying Hallen.
The visitors looked the favourites but the Shrews had ideas of their own, although neither side found it easy to control the ball in difficult conditions.
Hallen were the quickest out of the blocks and had several early opportunities to take the lead. They didn't take them and United began to play their way into the game.
The first goal came from a well-constructed string of passes down the left flank, which ended with Ben Halski facing the goalkeeper. With a sweet sidestep he was past him, leaving the simple task of rolling the ball into the empty net.
United were determined to improve on their slender 1-0 lead after the break, and Jess Walters popped up in the box to fire home from close range for goal number two.
Hallen weren't finished and they made some good chances, but they were thwarted by goalkeeper Adam Burwell and the last ditch tackling of the Shrews backline.
