Number one for Spire FM

RADIO station Spire FM and its breakfast show have been judged number one in England by Radio Joint Audience Research when compared against all other commercial and BBC radio stations.

The statistics reveal that the station has 53,000 weekly listeners with the breakfast show with Darren Cee and Suzie Southgate being particularly popular.

Station manager Ceri Hurford-Jones said: "With Spire FM recently collecting a 2004 Radio Academy Silver Award, the news couldn't have come at a better time.

"It's a fantastic result for the whole team, particularly when combined with the additional news that the Spire FM drivetime show is at number five in the top 20 of radio broadcasting in the UK."
