SWINDON TOWN goalkeeper Rhys Evans saw his former school Ruskin make their mark at the Stratton Primary five-a-side tournament.
Evans, who played in the event as a youngster, was on hand to present the trophies at the Grange Drive Community Centre.
And the 22-year-old gladly handed the trophy for the girls' tournament to Ruskin, while his old school were also runners-up in the boys' section.
More than 80 pupils took part in the annual event as teams from Colebrook, Grange, Nythe, Ruskin and St Catherines contested the boys' competition, while squads from Grange, Nythe and Ruskin, along with guests Liden, competed for the Girls' trophy.
On current league form, Grange boys and Nythe boys started as favourites, but the girls' event looked wide open.
In the qualifying stages, current form ran true, with Nythe and Grange boys achieving three wins and a draw.
They were joined in the semi-finals by Ruskin A who headed the qualifying stage with thirteen points and St Catherines who scraped through in fourth spot.
Top scorers in the qualifying stages were Jason Cass (Grange) on eight goals and Nathan Hawkins (Ruskin A) on seven goals.
In the girls' tournament, Ruskin girls dominated proceedings with two wins and a draw.
Grange girls joined Ruskin in the final, after collecting five points with a win and two draws.
Liden girls finished third on three points and Nythe ended fourth on one point.
Isha Hunt (Ruskin girls) led the scoring charts on four goals.
Ruskin A cruised into the final of the boys' competition as four goals from Nathan Hawkins and one from Nathan Lee earned them a 5-0 win over St Catherines.
Nythe also eased through to the showpiece, winning their clash of the titans with Grange 4-1.
Hawkins was on target again in the final but two goals from James Evans and an Aaron Palmer strike earned Nythe a 3-1 win and the silverware.
After drawing 0-0 in the qualifying round, a close girls final between Grange and Ruskin was anticipated.
But with England under 21 keeper Evans watching on, the new breed of Ruskin starlets dismantled their opponents 4-0.
Isha Hunt the outstanding player and leading scorer in the girls' event hit a hat-trick and Kirsty Maine was also on target.
