Harrhy fires cup winner

Veteran Steve Harrhy fired a goal two minutes from the end of extra-time to send Benson Reserves into the League Cup Final with a 3-2 win over Harwell International Reserves.

Benson meet neighbours Warborough Reserves in the final after they won 5-1 win against Radley Reserves.

In the North Berks Cup, Division 2 promotion hopefuls Sutton Courtenay came from behind to win their tie against Saxton Rovers by 2-1.

Holders Kintbury Rangers won 3-0 against Faringdon Town.

Appleton (Abingdon) were the days biggest surprise winners as they dumped high-riding Ardington & Lockinge out of the Cup 5-2.

In the remaining tie, Blewbury won 2-1 against Division Two outfit Harwell International, with goals from Johnny Pearce (penalty) and Ben Sutton with the second-half winner.

Grove Rangers missed out on the chance to go top of Division Two after they lost 3-2 to Steventon.

Mark Reynolds was the two-goal hero for Steventon with another for Shane Preece-Tripp, while Stuart Eadie got both Grove goals.

Division Three leaders Lambourn Reserves were gunned down 9-0 against AFC Wallingford A.
