Kids are a big draw for farm visitors

Ref. 29182-30THEY were only born last week, and already they're hitting the bottle. These thirsty billy-goats have won the hearts of hundreds of children who have been feeding them at Roves Farm.

The 10 British saanen goats were no use to a nearby dairy farmer, so they were donated to the visitor centre.

Later in life, they will take part in charity livestock races. But for the time being they are enjoying their status as the farm's most popular draw.

They will be bottle fed on powdered milk for three months before being moved out to a pasture.

Jacqueline Stamatopoulos, visitor centre manager, said: "They look so cute, the children always want to pick them up and cuddle them.

"At first the animals were quite shy, but they have settled in well."

The goats have helped to attract 700 visitors to the farm over half-term.

In the next few weeks, the farm is expecting its first spring lambs.
