Chance for you to go on the run

HIGHWORTH Running Club is organising its 19th annual run for Sunday, April 25, starting and finishing at Warneford School.

About 300 runners are expected to take part from club members to those who are taking regular exercise but just want to extend themselves.

Organisers say that age and lack of speed are no barriers to this event and anyone wanting to run in fancy dress costumes would be most welcome.

The five-mile run leaves Highworth from Warneford School, passes Wrag Barn then on to the Fresden cross roads, down Fresden Lane and back along the Coleshill Road into the finish at Warneford School, where every finisher will receive a medal.

Entry forms are now available from the Tadpoles Toy Shop, the Highworth Recrea-tion Centre and Simpson's Garage. The cost of the run is £5 for affiliated and £6 for non-affiliated people. Entries on the day will cost £1 extra.

Cheques can be made payable to the Highworth Running Club, and sent to with two stamped self addressed A5 sized envelopes to Highworth 5M Entry, Jason Daniels, 16 Barra Close, Highworth Swindon, Wilts-hire, SN6 7HX. Further details are on entry forms.

Anyone interested in runner is welcome to join the Highworth Running Club, which meets on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings at the Vorda building in Brewery Street.
