Chip shop's charity cash

A fish and chip shop in West Swindon is to present a cheque for £850 to the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen.

The Trawlerman, in West Swindon District Centre, raised the money in a large charity box.

The charity that supports families, widows and children of the fishermen who are lost or injured at sea.

Each month an average of four fishermen are killed or seriously injured and one fishing boat is lost.

The Trawlerman has been trading in Swindon for more than 20 years. The cheque presentation will take place on Tuesday at 11am.
