Link is to close for renovation

THE Link Centre in West Swindon will be closed for renovation work from Monday until 9am on Thursday.

Hot water systems will be upgraded, new showers installed for gym users and work on a new health suite begun over the three days.

Social services director John Short assured users that they could expect an even better service from the centre when it reopened.

He said: "I am very pleased that these improvements are happening.

"Customers at the Link Centre will benefit from these developments.

"Swindon Borough Council is fully committed to continuously improving its services to the community."

Mr Short added that he and the authority apologised for any inconvenience, but assured customers it would be business as usual from Thursday.

Anybody requiring further information is invited to contact the centre on 01793 445566.

The Link Centre offers sports facilities ranging from squash, basketball and tennis and badminton courts to a swimming pool and fully equipped gymnasium.

It also boasts a full-sized ice rink, a social area, a bar and dining facilities.

It is the base of a number of local sports teams and also serves as an entertainment venue.
