Train firm deal

South West Trains is due to confirm a new deal with the Strategic Rail Authority to take on a popular train service from west Wiltshire to London Waterloo at the end of this month.

The SRA says legal details of the deal are being finalised and hopes to make an announcement awarding the franchise of the service to South West Trains by March.

The deal could secure the future of the busy service provided South West Trains can find enough rolling stock to keep it operating.
