Fans asked for a helping hand

TROWBRIDGE Town are appealing for supporters to give them a helping hand on Sunday in a bid to get their Woodmarsh ground up to Screwfix Direct League standards.

One of the conditions for entry into the league is hard standing on two sides of the ground and the club is looking start the work this weekend.

The work will start at 9am on Sunday and the club would be grateful for any assistance, including equipment and supplies.

Manager Neil Kirkpatrick said: "If anyone can spare any time at all it will be gratefully received.

"Any equipment you can borrow, such as shovels, wheelbarrows, strimmers and plenty of elbow grease, will help .

"It is very important that we get this done in time for the Screwfix League inspection as it is vital for this club that we progress."

l TROWBRIDGE manager Neil Kirkpatrick believes Biddestone still have a big part to play in deciding the destination of the Wiltshire League title.

Trowbridge travel to Biddestone tomorrow second in the league, eight points behind leaders Stratton, but with six games in hand Kirkpatrick's side know they are in the driving seat.

The last time the two sides met was back in November when Biddestone, who were in contention for the title, suffered back-to-back league and cup defeats.

Kirkpatrick said: "Biddestone have to play us and Stratton and so will have a big say in who wins the championship.

"They have Steve Healy back who I know is a good player and I know they will be keen to get revenge for those two defeats against us earlier in the season."

Dave Mitchell is unavailable for the match so Guy Rowley is expected to take his place upfront.

Matt Minnus will be travelling with the first team squad after scoring regularly for the reserves.
