Double cup shock

NORTH STAR A and West End Wanderers both provided shocks in the WG Parr Trophy to reach the semi finals.

Second division North Star upset last season's beaten finalists Four Seasons 2-1.

Ronnie Kallmeier fired Star ahead and although the Division Three leaders got back on level terms through Marcus Young, Star's Tommy Ludford scored 15 minutes from time to clinch victory.

West End Wanderers may be struggling at the wrong end of the Division One table but they proved too good for Colerne FC, who lifted the trophy in 2002, winning 4-2.

Jamie Bowler and Richard Smart scored for Colerne while Steve Berine, Tom Staddon, Simeon Mills and Colin Garbutt got the goals for Wanderers.

DIVISION 4

FC Bradford emerged as the favourites to lift the Division Four title of the Vanitec Computers sponsored Chippenham Sunday League after beating title rivals Kings Arms (Trowbridge) 2-0.

Goals from Robin Walker and Jason Harford helped Bradford open up a seven-point gap at the top of the table and earn revenge for the 5-3 defeat against Trowbridge on the opening day of the season.

Paul Hussey's bizarre goal from the half-way line helped Classic FC defeat Fascia Graphics 2-0.

Hussey's up-and-under was spilled over the line by the Graphics' goalkeeper after 15 minutes and Mike Outen bagged Classic's second on 75 minutes.

Steve Tucker was White Horse FC's man of the match in his 100th game for the club, opening the scoring for his side who went on to beat Rowde 3-0. James Bagnell and Chris Sims added the others.

PREMIER DIVISION

Both Westbury Rangers A and Dog & Fox Ashley had to come from behind against respective opponents Terry's FC and Winsley to keep alive their slim hopes of stealing the Premier Division title.

Long-time leaders Sherston Town have their destiny in their own hands after their 8-2 demolition of Box Rovers.

Sherston have three games remaining but need to win two to be certain of the title.

Doubles for Antony Vizard and Andy Wicks plus singles from Richard Skull, Ed Wilkins, Lee Bevis and James Higgs helped Sherston to a 14th win of the season.

A stunning Luke Harfield goal plus Dan Lardner's opener for Winsley gave them a half-time lead against near neighbours Dog & Fox Ashley. Two early second-half substitutions turned the game in the Dog's favour, as Andy Backman put through his own goal to set up the Dog's comeback. Steve Roddy (2), Dan Cottrell, Russell Whatley and Matt Cottrell were also on target.

Terry's surrendered a two-goal advantage against Westbury Rangers as Rangers came back to make it four wins on the bounce with a 3-2 win.

Terry's opened up a two-goal cushion at the break thanks to a goals from Andy Colebrook and Mel Messaoud. But Rangers bounced back in the second half with goals from Pete Ayton and two from Marc Lanfear.

Bottom-of-the-table Calne Town (Sunday) are just one defeat away from relegation after they lost 4-0 at home to The Duke Corsham Darran Hughes (2) and Frank Rogers (2) scoring.

DIVISION ONE

After a two-week lay off, Division One leaders Biddestone Social returned to action and turned in an awesome display to defeat Chippenham Sports & Social Club 5-1. Jamie Lyons (3), Steve Healy and Paul Poiner scored for Biddestone.

Chippenham Police moved out of the bottom two after a 2-2 draw with promotion-chasing Maud Heath Sports. Police led 2-1 thanks to goals from Steve Davis and Zack Newton but Davis' missed penalty cost them dear as Heath bounced back.

Adie Simpkins added to Justin King's earlier strike to earn Sports a point.

The George Lacock missed two penalties against Semington Rovers as they suffered a 3-2 loss.

Lee Carpenter was first to miss from the spot when his effort cannoned off the post. Stuart Barber and Alan Clarke scored to give Rovers a 2-0 advantage before Tom Weeks pulled one back.

But when Tim Culling sent his attempt from 12 yards over the bar, the villagers knew it wasn't going to be their day.

Culling made amends for his miss with The George's second but it was not enough as James Eatough scored to wrap up victory.

The Horse & Groom staged a fine comeback to draw 3-3 with Trowbridge Harriers.

Groom bounced back from 3-1 down their goals coming from Paul Daly, Paul Bendell and Dave Appleyard. Matty Hobbs, Michael Hillier and an own goal provided Harriers' goals.

DIVISION TWO

Division Two leaders Corsham Centre extended their 100 per cent record to 15 matches after cruising past Blue Circle Saints 6-0.

Craig Gingell (2), Kevin Brown, Luke Denham, Simon Gray and substitute Andy Keogh scored.

Under-strength Roadrunners FC had a miserable day against Christian Malford, having to switch the match to Upper Seagry and only being able to field 10 players.

They took the lead through Andy Zuk's goal but crashed to an 11-1 defeat with four goals from Shaun House, three from Chris Pitman, two from Scott Evans and singles from James Kick and Matt Thompson.

Somerford also found themselves a goal down away at Southwick Sports but like Malford they hit back to win 10-1. Chris Yeo (4), John Goad (2), Gavin Klukowski (2), Steve Gore and Richard Chandler.

North Bradley and Holt FC shared the points after drawing one apiece,

DIVISION THREE

Parsons Nose took full advantage of leaders Four Seasons cup involvement to close the gap on their title rivals to just two points with a 6-3 win against Cooper Avon.

Wayne Bailey (2), Rick Noonan, Mark James, Ricky Sullivan and Craig Townsend on target for Nose.

Old Lane United turned in their best performance of the season to defeat Corsham Park Rangers 5-1.

Kelvin Page's opener for United was cancelled out by Paul Smith.

Colin Bales regained the lead for United before Ben Husband, Luke Stoneham and then Mike Austin added United's fifth.

Potterne FC were 4-0 up at the break against Sir Audley's Arms who, despite hitting two quick goals at the start of the second half, were unable to complete the comeback as Potterne won 6-3. Andy Beavan-Witts (3), Johnny Emm, Ben Giles and Darren Brown scored for Potterne.

Westbury Rangers B won their rearranged match with Bradstone Rovers sending them into the relegation zone. Goals from Shane Rendell and Steve Wyatt earned Rangers a 2-1 win.

WILTSHIRE SUNDAY CUP

Bradford News gave a good account of themselves against Wiltshire Sunday Cup holders Juventus but despite Charlie Powell giving them a 20th minute lead they lost out on a semi final place.
