WESTLECOT men will be looking to bounce back tomorrow to try and boost their hopes of reaching the Wessex League play-offs.
They face Rivermead (Reading) in their latest East Region group match.
The Berkshire side are languishing in last place in the eight team group table.
Last Saturday Westlecot were expected to win their re-arranged league game against Oxford City and County, move up to second place in the group table and cut the gap on leaders Carterton.
But after a promising start and leading on three of the four rinks at five and 10 ends the wheels came off the wagon completely.
Westlecot went on to lose on three rinks and manage a draw on the other.
As a result, instead of collecting a double-figured score as expected, they only gained a meagre one point out of 16 and stay in fourth place in the group table.
Westlecot must finish in the top three to stand any chance of making the play-offs.
The team for the Rivermead game tomorrow has had to be amended owing to a clash of fixtures and shows many changes.
Results: v Oxford C&C Home: Hedley Bowen drew 17-17; Mike Jackson lost 15-16. Away: Martin Hope lost 8-29; Neil Hope lost 14-19.
THAMESDOWN will also be in action tomorrow when they face second-placed West Berks in their penultimate group match.
They badly need a win on two counts.
Firstly to keep alive their slim hopes of finishing in the top three and possibly making the play-offs.
And secondly to boost confidence for their final group match in a fortnight's time the local derby clash with Westlecot on Sunday, February 29.
