Celebration dinner

DIGNITARIES from around the county gathered at the Wessex Association of Chambers of Commerce 10th anniversary dinner dance on Friday.

Michael Williams, chief executive of the association, said: "It was very successful, over 330 members and guests attended."

Guests included Wiltshire chief constable Elizabeth Neville, Lord Bath, High Sheriff David Newbigging and Lord Lieutenant Sir Maurice Johnston.

Presided over by Trowbridge town crier Trevor Heeks, who was master of ceremonies, the guests were entertained by London Spanish guitar quartet, Andalus, and a cabaret put on by Live, from South Wales. Over 70 raffle prizes and an auction raised £3,000.

Mr Williams said: "We were delighted with the support and thank all those who donated the prizes."
