NORTH WILTS YOUTH LEAGUE: GOALS from Michael Bowles and Jack Duckers in a 2-1 away win at Croft Juniors put Highworth Juniors within touching distance of the Under 13s Division One title.
Highworth went into the lead early on with a good lob by Bowles. Croft pulled back a goal with well taken shot by Jose Knight and were denied the lead by two excellent saves by Highworth goalkeeper, Marcus Lewis.
Highworth had the wind advantage in the second half but Croft were still creating chances. Ten minutes from time Duckers chased a through ball and just managed to flick the ball around the Croft goalkeeper to score and keep Highworth in the title race.
Highworth are now four points clear of second-placed Westlea Wanderers with just one game to play, which is against Westlea in three weeks time.
Fairford became the last side to book their place in the semi-finals of the league knockout cup with a comprehensive 11-1 win at Liden Community.
Under 16s Division
LIDEN Community and Shaw A both won at the top of the table and remain level on points.
Liden Community were narrow 3-2 winners at home against Cirencester Juniors, with Matty Lofts, Leigh Brown and Dan Ballinger the scorers.
Shaw A were made to work hard at Malmesbury but eventually ran out 6-1 winners, John Blackwell, Daniel Chechhia, Craig Dixon, Jamie Harris, Mark King and Scott Rivers scoring.
Under 15s Division
IN Group A in the Subsidiary Cup, Liden Community had a comfortable 5-0 home win over Robins, while honours were shared at Ballards Ash between Wootton Bassett Town and Ferndale Rodbourne.
Malmesbury came from behind to beat Croft 3-2 in a cup quarter final game.
Under 14s Division
TOP game of the day was at Bradon Forest, where top-of-the-table Greenmeadow met Westbrook, one of the two sides who could still pip Greenmeadow for the title.
At half-time all looked lost for Westbrook as they trailed 4-1, but in a week of great comebacks, Westbrook staged one of their own. With the wind behind them, Shaun Harris scored twice, adding to Andy Grier's first half effort.
Greenmeadow then stood up well to the constant pressure and seemed to be holding on until five minutes from time when Josh Digby raced through to score the equaliser.
The drama still wasn't over, and as the game went into added time, Matt Hobbs sent over a cross to sub Matt Godsell, who hit a volley into the bottom corner for the winner.
Under 12s Division One
WITH the top two, Amesbury Sports and Lydiard Youth, both inactive, Shaw had the chance to close the gap on the leaders.
Unfortunately they came up against a spirited Croft side who won 3-1.
Under 11s North
THE top three all won. Blunsdon Colts beat Fairford 8-1, Highworth Juniors kept in touch with a narrow 1-0 win at home against Cricklade Youth, while Stratton Juniors Orange continued their fine form of late with a 9-0 away win against bottom-of-the-table Stratton Youth.
Under 11s West
LEADERS Shaw had a resounding 14-0 win at home against a spirited Highworth Juniors Strikers.
