New industrial park ready at Cheney Manor

Alder King has announced the launch of Darby Industrial Park, the biggest building to come on to the market in Swindon for some years.

Following the news that the former Spectrum and Renault building is being bought by the Chinese Government, at 242,000sq ft Darby Industrial Park is the largest manufacturing/ distribution building now available in Swindon.

Situated at Cheney Manor Industrial Estate, Darby Industrial Park has recently been acquired by Wiltshire Property Holdings.

The property has been bought from Schneider Electric, which is relocating to South Marston Park as part of an ongoing rationalisation programme.

Darby Industrial Park covers an area of 242,000 sq ft including 34,000 sq ft of refurbished three-storey offices.

Commenting on the property, Simon Kingsley, partner at Alder King, said: "We are delighted to have acted for Wiltshire Property Holdings in its acquisition of this major industrial property.

"Facilities of this size and quality are increasingly rare, particularly in a location like Swindon where traditional redevelopment cycles tend to be shortened due to the dynamism of the local economy."

Occupation will be available from the spring.
