Stephen HendryTICKETS to see seven snooker greats in action at Trowbridge Civic Hall are almost sold-out.

Staff at the Civic Hall have been inundated with inquiries since the Wiltshire Times announced seven of the world's best snooker players were on their way to Wiltshire's county town as part of its 150th anniversary celebrations.

Top players Stephen Hendry, Jimmy White, Steve Davis, Marco Fu, and John Higgins are among the players battling it out in the 2004 Premier Snooker League. World number one Mark Williams and Masters winner Paul Hunter is also due to compete.

The 2004 Snooker Premier League is played over four venues with the finals held in North Wales. The two-day leg in Trowbridge will be played over the weekend of February 14 and 15, with five matches in total.

Civic Hall manager Bill Austin said: "Considering there are 389 tickets per match there are very few left."
