Same 16 as Westlecot bid for Egham glory

WESTLECOT will be bidding to stay on the glory trail in the Egham Trophy this weekend.

They will be seeking a place in the quarter-finals of the national inter-club mixed championship when they face Jack High (Hayes, Middlesex) in the last 16 tomorrow (10am).

Westlecot have named an unchanged side. They will use the same 16 players that battled superbly to record an 81-80 victory over a strong Avon Valley side in their last match in the last 32.

That game went down to the wire with Dave Snell's rink away in Warwick grabbing a two on the last end of the match to seal a nail-biting one shot overall success.

Westlecot will be hoping for more success tomorrow but without the drama on this occasion.

WESTLECOT men's side are back in action today (10am) in a re-arranged Wessex League match.

They face Oxford City and County in an East Region group game that has twice previously been postponed.

Westlecot currently lie in third place in the group 21 points adrift of leaders Carterton but only eight points behind West Berks who they beat last weekend.

With a match in hand over both these clubs and 16 points available today against Oxford C & C, Westlecot will be looking to close the gap on Carterton and move into second place.
