Quiz to raise cash for canal

TRIVIA fans can test their knowledge while helping restore an historic canal link to the River Thames.

The Melksham branch of the Wilts and Berks Canal Trust has organised the fundraising quiz for February 24 at the town's Rachel Fowler Centre. The trust is working to link the Kennet and Avon Canal through Wiltshire to the Thames near Abingdon and The Thames and Severn Canal near Cricklade.

The quiz starts at 7.30pm and organisers say that questions will not be aimed at waterway enthusiasts.

Teams can have up to four people with 30 slots available and entry costs £10 per team.

Top prize is £40 and the evening will also feature a raffle and refreshments.
