RICHARD Hannon’s Queen Mary Stakes second Tiggy Wiggy looks set to bypass Newmarket’s July Meeting and head to the £250,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint at Newbury on Saturday, July 19 for her next start.
Speaking at the Berkshire track last night, Hannon, who has bases at Everleigh and Herridge, said: “I’m leaning towards running Tiggy Wiggy in the Weatherbys Super Sprint as we love this track and this race. She’s in at Newmarket and I’ll speak to the owners, but the race looks perfect for her.”
Also in the mix for Hannon – whose father helped devise the concept of the Super Sprint and won it a record seven times – is Parsley, last seen finishing runner-up in the bet365 Empress Stakes.
Hannon added: “Parsley ran a cracker to be second at Newmarket last weekend and this looks the ideal next step for her too. Again, I’ll be speaking to the owners who will have the final say.”
