Wow, very happy to eat humble pie after my prediction earlier today, but doesn't that just sum up the frustration of being a Robins fan this season? Sloppy home defeats at home to Poole & Wolverhampton, and big leads thrown away on our travels, and then they blow away the league leaders, and still with only 6 riders getting the points. Now, can we take that form on to Coventry tomorrow and pick up the four points and just maybe that play-off push could still be a reality?

10:24pm

Captain Batchelor was similarly proud of his side.

"Who says we can't finish strong," he said.

"It was a tough start but we came on strong.

"In heat 13 it was the two Lynn boys against me but I made a good start to win it and I'm stoked to get all the points.

"These guys are top of the league and are killing it so to beat them and get all the points is great for us."

10:10pm

Robins boss Alun Rossiter was full of praise for Troy Batchelor after tonight's meeting.

TROY BATCHELOR AND ALUN ROSSITER

“This really is fantastic,” he said.

“We’ve collapsed so many times at the end of meetings and to go on and win like this is fantastic.

“We nearly won at King’s Lynn earlier in the season so I knew we could do it, but to win this won and to take all the points was great.

“Troy Batchelor was outstanding tonight, he came to the party and produced some great stuff which was really good to see. His 5-1 with Nick got things started and to win heat 13 when he was on his own was brilliant and he team rode really well.”

FINAL SCORE: Swindon Robins 50 King's Lynn Stars 40

ROBINS: Peter Kildemand (3-3-2-FX-3) 11; Dakota North (1-3-0-3) 7; Nick Morris (0-2-1'-3) 6+1; Simon Gustafsson (3-0-2-3) 8; Troy Batchelor (1-1-2'-3-2') 9+2; Charles Wright (2-1-3-2'-1) 9+1; Nathan Greaves (0-0-0) 0.

STARS: Niels-Kristian Iversen (2-3-1-2-1) 9; Nicklas Porsing (0-2-0-2) 3; Rory Schlein (2'-2-3-3-0) 10+1; Robert Lambert (0-2-0-2) 4; Kenneth Bjerre (3-1-1-1') 6+1; Lewis Kerr (3-1'-2-0) 6+1; Simon Lambert (1-0-1'-R) 2+1.

9:21pm

Heat 15: Kildemand, Batchelor, Iversen, Schlein; 68.24 – 5-1 (50-40)
Two stunning gates see the Robins take the lot. Batchelor nearly takes his partner to the fence but they make it round.

9:17pm

At the tapes for heat 15, heat advantage takes all the points, which would be some achievement.

At the tapes for heat 15, heat advantage takes all the points, which would be some achievement.

9:14pm

Batchelor, Kildemand, Iversen, Schlein for heat 15

9:13pm

Heat 14: Gustafsson, R Lambert, Wright, Kerr; 67.99 – 4-2 (45-39)
Gustafsson gates to a great win, but Lambert stops a home max as he produces a great move to pass Wright.

9:08pm

Wright in for Greaves in heat 14

9:08pm

Heat 13: Batchelor, Iversen, Bjerre, Kildemand FX; 67.89 – 3-3 (41-37)
After Kildemand and Bjerre slide off in turn one, Kildemand comes to grief again in the re-run and is excluded. In the third staging, with the pressure on, Batchelor produces a superb PARKEN-esque start to beat the Stars home. Great ride.

9:04pm

Not much in the way of contact there but a fair call I'd say. He ran very wide.

9:02pm

Kildemand hits the deck again and this time is excluded.

8:52pm

It's all four back, with Bjerre now walking back to the pits.

8:52pm

Kildemand's up, but Bjerre is still down. The Robins' Dane was really not happy with something there.

8:51pm

All four riders reach turn one of heat 15 together, with Kildemand and Bjerre hitting the deck.

8:48pm

Heat 12: North, Wright, Porsing, S Lambert; 68.02 – 5-1 (38-34)
With a dirt line developing, both Robins use it well to secure a second successive 5-1.

8:44pm

Now that makes things interesting.

8:44pm

Heat 11: Morris, Batchelor, Iversen, Lambert; 67.92  - 5-1 (33-33)
Both Robins make really good starts and Morris uses the outside line well to eventually lead Batch home.

8:32pm

Big ride needed from Morris and Batch in the next one to keep the Robins close.

8:32pm

Heat 10: Schlein, Kildemand, Bjerre, North; 67.11 – 2-4 (28-32)
Schlein wins but half a straight as North pushes Bjerre for the back without success.

8:28pm

Heat nine: Wright, Kerr, Lambert, Greaves; 68.74 – 3-3 (26-28)
A really good battle at the back as Greaves pushing Lambert for all four laps before just about losing out.

8:22pm

Heat eight: Schlein, Gustafsson, Morris, Porsing; 67.45 – 3-3 (23-25)
The Robins pair gate behind Schlein but go inside and out of Porsing in turn one to keep things level.

8:18pm

All very tight so far. Kildemand's on it but Batchelor needs to step up if his side are going to win this.

8:11pm

Heat seven:  North, Lambert, Kerr, Greaves; 68.37 – 3-3 (20-22)
North makes a great start to beat the Stars pair home, with Greaves at the back.

8:07pm

Heat six: Iversen, Morris, Bjerre, Gustafsson; 66.83 – 2-4 (17-19)
Morris does well to pass Bjerre but can’t catch Iversen.

8:02pm

Heat five: Kildemand, Schlein, Batchelor, Lambert; 66.83 – 4-2 (15-15)
After an unsatisfactory start in the first staging, Kildemand gates to win.

7:59pm

Red lights on in heat five and it's all four back. PK told to stay still.

7:55pm

Decent start from Swindon but there's an awful long way to go in this one.

7:50pm

Heat four: Gustafsson, Porsing, Wright, Lambert; 66.71 – 4-2 (11-13)
Gustafsson makes one of the best starts you will see to take victory in his first ride.

7:46pm

Heat three: Bjerre, Schlein, Batchelor, Morris; 66.65 – 1-5 (7-11)
The Stars take a max from the gate despite Batchelor pushing Schlein.

7:43pm

Heat two: Kerr, Wright, Lambert, Greaves F; 68.42 – 2-4 (6-6)
Not a great race for the Robins as first Greaves retires and then Wright is pipped on the line by Kerr after going very wide in the final corner as he was about to win with ease.

7:38pm

Heat one: Kildemand, Iversen, North, Porsing;  66.0 4-2 (4-2)
Kildemand makes the gate and wins with ease. North initially joined him for a max before Iversen used all his experience to find a way round.

7:34pm

Peter Kildemand out in heat one, and he only just made it in time for the track walk after being stuck in traffic.

7:33pm

And they are on.

7:32pm

Two minutes just about to go on.

7:26pm

Robins take one and three in the first heat.

7:24pm

Parade has started so we shouldn't be too far away from the off.

7:23pm

Rosco's running around the Legends Lounge having lost his phone. If anyone finds it please get in touch and we can reunite him with it.

ALUN ROSSITER

7:21pm

Both sides have an absent reserve tonight, with Simon Lambert in for Lewis Rose for the Stars and Charles Wright in for Steve Worrall.

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Steve Worrall arrives in the nick of time for his second ride of the day

STEVE WORRALL

7:20pm

Both Robins riders made the final at PARKEN, where Niels-Kristian Iversen was the eventual winner. Niels heads up the Lynn side tonight.

NKI

7:17pm

The Robins GP stars, Peter Kildemand and Troy Batchelor, are back on home shale for the first time since their exploits in Copenhagen and will need to reproduce that form if the hosts are going to get anything tonight.

Right, the league leaders are in town so this one should be an exciting meeting.

Sorry Rosco, I know nothing after 46 years of supporting the Robins! Brilliant meeting, decent crowd, lovely weather and I even had a rather expensive cider to celebrate!

Best meeting of the season by a mile KL are a force no doubt but our boys wanted it and were by far the better team second half of the meeting and great to see us come on strong instead of fading at the end. What ever Roscoe said to them at half way point it worked and a fantastic climax . The second half was excellent and boy the young kids were brilliant and very entertaining 6 excellent heats and need more of this after meetings. Tonight was excellent value for money and made a nice change and Charles Wright was an excellent guest for our points machine Steve Worrall and got a massive 9 points so well done to the lad. Have to say I and many were writing off Batch after just 2 points from two rides but he was superb after that and shut us lot up on the back straight. Lets hope we can take this to the next home match against Poole.

Fair play to Batch tonight. Real captains role tonight after a disappointing first 2 rides. Made a difference when it mattered. Great team ride in heat 11 to help Nick round and then to win heat 13 maintained the Robins momentum. Hopefully that form continues for the rest of the season. Well done to Batch and the team for a great win!
