Luongo misses out on action

The Wiltshire Gazette and Herald: Massimo Luongo Massimo Luongo

SWINDON midfielder Massimo Luongo missed out on game time in Australia’s final World Cup warm-up game against Croatia on Saturday night.

The youngster, who was called up to the Socceroos squad last week, didn’t get off the bench in the 1-0 defeat as Hull striker Nikica Jelavic scored the only goal in Bahia.

The Aussies begin their World Cup campaign against Chile on Friday night.

Good Luck to Luongo if he gets some game time. Fans of our club should be delighted he has made a world cup squad whether he plays or not. Australia are not big as football nations go but it doesnt matter for a L1 player to make it to a world cup is massive.

You never know one minnow always make a shock maybe and would be great if they did it and Luongo is the hero.

Well done Mass, I also hope you get some game time. Will do no harm at all for the lad.
Should Australia quallifiy for 2018 and 2022 - I thought Australia should have been hosts for 2022, much better option - then Mass could feature again. By that time, no doubt, it won't be as a Town player.
