PETER Kildemand is determined not to let his crash at Blunsdon on Thursday night ruin his chances in two big meetings this weekend.

The Dane hit the fence after colliding with Jason Doyle in heat 13 of the Robins’ meeting with Leicester on Thursday night, but, after walking away from the crash with just a few bumps and bruises, will still line up in a GP qualification round in Slovenia tonight.

Kildemand is also due to ride in the Challenge meeting for the European Championship on Monday, and is keen to make significant strides in individual competitions.

“I’m a bit second hand after the crash but it’s life and you have to deal with it,” he said.

“It always happens like this for me because I had the GP Challenge last year and I crashed the Thursday before, but I didn’t bang my head this time so I’m just a bit sore.

“It’s two really big meetings for me and I want to do well, so this isn’t ideal, but if I have some time to chill out and stuff I should be fine.

“These meetings are really important to me and I really want to get through, because doing the individual meetings is the next step for me.”

Kildemand is joined in Slovenia by his captain at Blunsdon, Troy Batchelor, and the Aussie is confident of making progress as he bids to make sure of a return to the Grand Prix series for 2015.

“Every meeting is important to me because I want to be the best rider I can be,” Batchelor said.

“I think on paper it’s pretty straight forward, the quarter-final, and I’ve done it a few times now so I will do everything I can to do it again.

“They are hard meetings but I should be able to get through this one.

“Pete’s in there too and some other good riders but you don’t need to win the meetings, you just need to get the top spots and get through.”

Former Robin Nicolai Klindt, who was a guest for Swindon against Leicester on Thursday night, is also competing in the event after earning his spot by finishing second in the opening round of the Danish championship last month.
