CHIPPENHAM Town manager Mark Collier is certain his players won’t be fazed by returning to the scene of Rob Dean’s career-ending injury tonight.

Collier insists there is no ill-feeling between Town and their in-form Berkshire opponents and is simply concentrating on attempting to curtail the Crusaders’ play-off push.

“The lads have all spoken to Rob in some form and a few have been to visit him, so hopefully what’s talked about today is the football,” said the Hardenhuish Park chief.

“It is a game of football and it’s one that we want to be competitive in and try to do well in.

“There’s no bad feeling between us and Hungerford Town. I’ve been in quite a lot of contact with their manager (Bobby Wilkinson) and two or three of their players that I know too.

“We’ll go there looking for a good result and hopefully we can be ringing Rob Dean after the game to say what a great result we’ve gotten.”

Town travel to Hitchin Town this Saturday and take on Hungerford for the second time in five days on Easter Monday before finishing the campaign with a trip to St Neots Town.

Collier is keen to see his team remain competitive in their final four assignments of the season.

“One thing we want to do is play with a bit of a smile on our faces but we’ve got two tough games against Hungerford, who will be all guns blazing because they’re still going for the play-offs,” said Collier.

“We’ve got good supporters at this club and we’ll go out and make sure we try and win our next match, knowing that we’re safe and secure on the back of two victories.”
