Thanks for following Bluebirds Live this afternoon.
Don't forget to check out next week's Gazette and Herald for more reaction to today's loss at Burnham and news of Tuesday's trip to Bideford.
Chippenham Town boss Steve Winter on this afternoon's dismal 4-1 defeat at Burnham: "All I can do is apologise to the travelling supporters because there's just no excuse for that.
"We're just so inconsistent - one day we're brilliant and the next day, we're terrible.
"We came out well in the second half but we were 4-0 down and had nothing to lose.
"The way the season's gone, it wouldn't surprise me if we get something (at Bideford next Tuesday).
"I feel confident that we can go there and get something, just like I was today.
"Because they're a good side, all of our players will be mentally strong for it but they need to be like that week in, week out."
The sun may be shining but it's been a bleak day at the office for Chippenham.
A dismal first half sees Steve Winter's men on the end of a thrashing in Buckinghamshire. The visitors may have improved greatly in the second period but the hosts had already dealt the damage.
It's another tough away trip next Tuesday as the Bluebirds make the long trip to Bideford and Winter's men will need to be a lot more at the races
FULL-TIME: BURNHAM 4 CHIPPENHAM TOWN 1
Harvey finds Lennox with a fine chipped ball but his shot is charged down by Lee Togwell
There's not long left in Buckinghamshire. It's been a spirited second half performance away from home for the Bluebirds - if only it hadn't been for that first half
SUB: Lee Phillips comes on for Knighton
The hosts almost net a fortuitous fifth! Tindle attempts to clear the danger after robbinb Adam Bernard in the box but powers his clearance into Josh Webb, with John having to save the goalbound deflection!
Time running out for the Bluebirds. They're still looking the better side in this second half but Burnham had done the hard work in the first period and are content to hold on to their lead
We're in the middle of a lenghty break as Burnham's Charles-Smith requires attention
Stuart Tovey is shown a yellow card for clipping Blake
Griffin goes for goal from the resulting free-kick and his effort smacks into the Burnham wall and out for a corner
But it's a free-kick to the Bluebirds. Winger Lennox was picked out by a superb ball from John.
Chippenham want a penalty! Referee Webb is consulting with his linesman after Lennox is clipped by Willment
A searching ball from Murden is headed on by Griffin but that's comfortable for keeper Watkins
The hosts' Smith goes for goal from outside the area but that's horribly high and wide!
It's Chippenham who are piling on the pressure at present. Burnham holding firm though
Tovey, McClennan and Griffin play a lovely one-two-three and Burnham's Gray is booked for scything down McClennan
Burnham's Blake looks set to race towards goal but is denied by a great challenge from Murden, who's impressed since coming off the bench
SUB: Guthrie comes off to be replaced by Joe Lennox
McClennan sends Guthrie racing towards the area with a superb through ball but the winger's cross is plucked out of the air by Watkins
Knighton holds the ball up well and lays off to Harley Purnell, who slides in Griffin but his shot is held by goalie Watkins.
Chippenham have definitely improved in this second half but they still trail by three goals
The dangerous Blake twists and turns yet again with his back to goal, shifting past Murden, but his ball into the area is gathered easily by John
Griffin and McClennan combine well and the winger cuts inside but opts to fire goalwards with his left foot, getting his effort all wrong
A glimmer of hope for the Bluebirds? James Guthrie's corner is flicked on through the crowd and substitute Murden is on hand at the far post to fire home his first goal in a Chippenham shirt
GOAL: BURNHAM 4 CHIPPENHAM TOWN 1
Youngster Murden has replaced Murray in the heart of the defence, partnering Tindle.
Chippenham threaten straight from the kick-off, with keeper Watkins palming away Knighton's effort
And the second half gets underway at Burnham. Is there a way back into this game for Winter's men?
Murden comes on for Ben Murray at half-time
The Chippenham players begin to emerge for the second period.
Luke Murden looks like he'll be coming on for only his second appearance for the Bluebirds
The Bluebirds just haven't carried much of a threat up top and have been cut apart at the other end time after time.
It's been a sobering experience so far and you wouldn't be surprised to see boss Winter swing the axe at make a change or two at half-time.
If you've got the stomach for it, stick with Bluebirds Live for the second period
And that brings a frankly miserable first 45 minutes for Chippenham to an end.
They've been put to the sword here at the Gore and any hope of comeback looks unlikey as they trail by four goals
And it's turning into a rout.
Winger Dobson takes the free-kick and loops an effort over the wall and past the reach of keeper John to net Burnham's fourth and his second of the afternoon.
GOAL: BURNHAM 4 CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0
The hosts win a free-kick in a shooting position
Iain Harvey goes up to challenge Burnham's Page in the air and looks to have caught his opposite number with his forearm but referee Michael Webb keeps his cards in his pocket
Tom Knighton goes for goal from a free-kick but his effort curls the wrong side of the near post
So what now for Winter's men? There's still ten minutes of the half remaining and a goal before the break must surely be the minimum requirement if the visitors are to mount a comeback
Keeper John was also booked for brining down Blake as he conceded that penalty
Two quickfire goals put the hosts in total contol. A huge mountain to climb for the Bluebirds now
It's turning in to a miserable afternoon for Chippenham.
Winger Dobson takes the penalty and fires home into the bottom right-hand corner to make it 3-0
BURNHAM 3 CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0
It's going from bad to worse...Ben John has to rush out of his box to challenge danger-man Blake and trips the striker from behind to concede a spot-kick
PENALTY TO BURNHAM
Burnham grab a second on the counter-attack and it was Blake at the heart of it again.
The striker gets in behind and charges down the right flank before laying the ball into the path of John Gray, who arrives into the box unmarked and fires into the top corner
GOAL: BURNHAM 2 CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0
Burnham's Anthony Page is booked for chopping down Jack Allward
Just over 20 minutes gone here at the Gore and Burnham still lead.
The pace of striker Blake has been their main asset, with the Burnham man running the channels and causing chaos on the shoulder of the last man. But the Bluebirds have begun to find their feet as they search for an equaliser
Burnham look to break and Dobson puts in a cross towards the head of Charles but the striker is penalised for a foul on John
Unfortunately, it comes to nothing as keeper MIchael Watkins catches McClennan's kick
Chippenham put together a fine spell of possession and eventually win a corner as Guthrie's cross is charged down
Greg Tindle is booked for a sliding tackle on Blake. The challenge was from behind but the Chippenham man is adamant he took plenty of the ball
But Chippenham go close to levelling matters. Griffin doesn't even need to jump to meet a James Guthrie corner but under pressure, the striker's header floats over the bar!
Now the home side's Smith knocks in a dangerous cross that just can't be turned in by the Burnham attack.
The hosts have their tails up
And the hosts threaten again, with the ball bouncing off keeper John and allowing Blake a strike on goal but the Chippenham goalie gets down well to block the effort
It was a smart piece of play from Burnham's Blake but Chippenham manager Winter will be disappointed with how easy he got into the area to tee-up his strike partner
Burnham take an early lead. It's a superb piece of play from striker Blake, who outpaces Iain Harvey and cuts in down the byline before flashing a ball into the area, which is fired into the roof of the net by big striker Marc Charles-Smith.
Not the start the Bluebirds would have wanted
GOAL: BURNHAM 1 CHIPPENHAM TOWN 0
More Burnham pressure. John has to palm away a Dobson corner and the ball falls to Adam Martin, whose strike is well-blocked by Griffin
Burnham get in down the left flank and a teasing cross from James Dobson is just over the head of striker Ryan Blake
At the other end, Ashley Smith has a pop from range but his deflected strike is comfortable for Ben John
From the resulting free-kick, the ball falls to Joe McClennan on the edge of the area, but the Chippenham man's strike is well over
Alan Griffin is absolutely flattened early on by Burnham's Tom Willment.
The home defender was nowhere near the ball as he challenged in the air and if it wasn't the first minute, you wouldn't be surprised to see the yellow card come out!
And we're underway in Buckinghamshire
Chippenham to kick-off, going from right to left...
You'd expect the Bluebirds to line-up in the same 4-4-2 formation as last weekend, with Purnell replacing Tumely in the middle of the park
And out they come!
Hosts Burnham are first into the tunnel, wearing their Blackburn Rovers-esque blue and white kit.
Chippenham are in their lime green away strip
So the teams are back in the tunnel and there's around 12 minutes until kick-off at the Gore.
Newport Town's Andy Sandell, who had a brief spell with the Bluebirds two seasons ago, has been a regular supporter of Chippenham in recent weeks whilst he recovers from injury.
Sandell has made the trip to Burnham to watch his old side again today
The facilities here at Burnham are very impressive for Southern League standard and the pitch looks in good nick.
It's an interesting test for Steve Winter's side this afternoon. Can they triumph away from home?
Chippenham returned to form last weekend with a fine 3-0 triumph over Redditch United at Hardenhuish Park.
Burnham, who were last season's Southern League Central champions, haven't won in their last four league games but earned a creditable 0-0 draw at high-flying Poole Town in their last league outing.
BURNHAM: Michael Watkins, Lee Togwell, John Gray, Tom Willment, Reece Yorke (c), Ashley Smith, Adam Martin, Anthony Page, Marc Charles-Smith, Ryan Blake, James Dobson.
SUBS: Josh Webb, Danny Burnell, Adam Bernard, Daniel Bailey, Sam Southerden.
CHIPPENHAM TOWN TEAM TO PLAY BURNHAM: Ben John, Stuart Tovey, Jack Allward, Ben Murray, Greg Tindle, Iain Harvey, Joe McClennan, Harley Purnell, Alan Griffin (c), Tom Knighton, James Guthrie.
SUBS: Joe Lennox, Joe Tumelty, Lee Phillips, Luke Murden
Harley Purnell returns to the Chippenham starting line-up in place of Joe Tumelty, whilst Phillips returns to the bench.
The early team news for Chippenham is that Lee Phillips returns following his broken hand.
Fellow striker Isaac Reid is also not involved today. He's out getting game time in the Calor League Division One South & West after joining Clevedon Town on loan
