Chippenham Town Council has chosen two local companies for its electricity supply and IT support.
Councillors voted to sign up with award-winning renewable energy company Good Energy, which has had its headquarters in Chippenham since 1999.
Council leader David Powell said: “Chippenham Town Council is committed to using renewable energy resources, getting best value for every penny of the public money it uses and, where possible, supporting local businesses. Good Energy has enabled us to achieve all of those aspirations.”
They will also be using IT Solutions 4 Business Ltd, based in Notton, near Lacock.
Sue Wilthew, chief executive of the town council, said: “Chippenham needs to be loud and proud about the range and quality of service providers that are on our doorstep. Look local first.”
